Professor and Chairman,
Department of Dermatology, Nagoya University Graduate School of Medicine

Dear Friends and Colleagues:

It is a great honor and pleasure for us to have the opportunity to host the forty-fifth annual meeting of the Japanese Society for Investigative Dermatology (JSID2020) at WINC AICHI, Nagoya, Japan, from December 11th to 13th, 2020.

We believe that the JSID2020 will provide a wonderful platform and an important opportunity for the participants to share the research achievements and latest information on the advances made in investigative dermatology and skin science.

The city of Nagoya is located in the center of the main land of Japan, and hence is easy to access not only for participants from Japan, but also from foreign countries. The venue for the event is very close to the Nagoya station, Shinkansen. In addition, it is accessible from two airports, the Central Japan International Airport (Centrair Airport) for participants flying in from foreign countries and Nagoya Airport (Komaki Airport) for those taking domestic flights.

The Nagoya area is famous for many major bushos or Japanese military commanders of the Sengoku period, including the shogun, Tokugawa Ieyasu, who founded the Edo Shogunate. The Nagoya Castle was constructed during his time more than four centuries ago. I hope that you will visit Nagoya’s sightseeing spots including the Nagoya Castle, and enjoy the atmosphere of the Edo Samurai era, inherent to this area, during the meeting.

I would like to extend a warm welcome to all the members of the JSID and other participating societies. We hope that you will be able to attend the meeting, JSID2020, and will enjoy the time in Nagoya. I truly wish we can foster a meaningful friendship through this event.
